As I reflect on the past year, I am incredibly inspired by the commitment of our team and our global partners, and the progress in the communities where we work. Thank YOU for being a part of our efforts.
Our approach of connecting with individual communities, listening to their needs, and then working together to address their risks is gaining momentum and showing rewarding results.
From the first locally-led large-scale earthquake and tsunami drill in northern Haiti, to a new project addressing community impacts from geological hazards affected by climate change, we continue to build resilience in places that need it most.
By working before disasters, we can save lives and protect communities. You can see this below in a video featuring a child from westernmost Nepal. We have been working in this area since 2016 due to its high earthquake risk. Our recent efforts in the region have focused on school safety, as we found that close to 90% of schools are vulnerable.
Your support makes all of this possible.
With a heartfelt thank you, I wish you a safe and wonderful new year,
Veronica Cedillos, President & CEO
