This effort to increase earthquake resilience in China is a first-of-its-kind collaboration. The project team included researchers and agencies in China, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Key partners:

A story about how a strong earthquake affects a family with "left-behind" children in Weinan, Shaanxi Province, China. There are two versions:

 

1) For non-technical readers in graphic format.

2) For public officials, with technical details.

Note: The Chinese texts will be published  through an official Government of China publishing house.

The story in graphics English version was awarded first prize for book series in the 2020 International Contest for Science Communication on Earthquake Preparedness and Disaster Reduction (2020国际防震减灾科普作品大赛).

The contest was organized by the Seismological Society of China and sponsored by the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior (IASPEI) and the Asian Seismological Commission.
